Med/Surg RN Job Details – Wausau, WI Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel Nursing Unit: Medical and Pediatrics (MAP) – Adult patients only Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour variable day/PM shifts Weekly Estimated Pay: $1990 - $2130 Hours per Week: 48 guaranteed (overtime available after 48 hours) Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation Float: May float to all inpatient units as needed Charting System: EPIC Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience; Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Strong ability to work independently, adapt to change, and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical conditions, including respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal illnesses, diabetes management, renal failure, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious diseases, and acute alcohol withdrawal Maintain patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:6-7 on nights Float to other inpatient units as needed to support hospital staffing needs Accurately document patient care and assessments using the EPIC EMR system Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes Participate in every other weekend and holiday rotation as required Apply now to join our healthcare team in Wausau, Wisconsin, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
