Summary:

The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting a Technical Records Specialist 2 for the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables office located in Caldwell, ID.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

Fulfill responsibility of an ISDA employee as outlined in the Department’s Risk Management/Safety Policy

Perform a variety of secretarial/clerical functions using independent judgment

Process forms and maintain records related to inspection programs such as certificates and note sheets, payroll, personnel, supplies, etc.

Utilize a variety of computer operations to complete daily assignments

Use advanced technology to generate a variety of reports from a database

Explain District policies, procedures, and services to others

Review forms, reports, bills, and vouchers to ensure accuracy and advise supervisor of problem areas

Responsible for processing and maintaining records related to both the inspection program and administrative details

Develop and maintain a filing system for all inspection personnel and management reports and documents

Respond to inquiries and advise others on designated program issues.

Other duties as assigned by the Bureau Chiefs and/or Administrator

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: These qualifications are mandatory requirements and are typically gained by one year of work experience in each of the following areas:

Monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors

Interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs

Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues

Dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations

Entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system

Composing and proofreading business correspondence

Specialty Qualifications: These qualifications are mandatory requirements.

Microsoft Word - ability to operate word processing software (such as Microsoft Word) and equipment at the rate of 40 wpm or more and produce merged documents, specialized tables, reports (columns), correspondence, forms (creating and using templates), and graphics

Experience Using Spreadsheet Software - at least one year of experience using spreadsheet software to create and modify electronic worksheets and design and print graphs
