POSITION SUMMARY

The

Fleet

Product Manager

plays a crucial role in ensuring the company's rental fleet and related services meet customer needs and drive business success. In essence, the product manager in an industrial vehicle rental company acts as a bridge between customer needs, market trends, and the company's rental fleet and services. They are responsible for ensuring the company offers the right equipment at the right price to meet customer demands and drive business growth.

COMPENSATION This position offers a competitive compensation package, benchmarked to regional market standards. It consists of a base salary plus the opportunity for quarterly profit sharing after one year of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fleet Strategy and Optimization:

Market Analysis:

Researching industry trends, customer demands, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for fleet expansion or optimization.

Equipment Selection:

Determining the right mix of equipment types, sizes, and features to meet customer needs and maximize rental utilization.

Lifecycle Management:

Developing strategies for equipment acquisition, maintenance, and disposal to minimize costs and maximize return on investment.

Pricing Strategy:

Setting competitive rental rates based on market conditions, equipment demand, and cost considerations.

Product Development and Innovation:

Identifying Needs:

Understanding customer pain points and unmet needs to identify opportunities for new rental offerings or service enhancements.

Developing Solutions:

Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to develop innovative solutions that address customer needs and differentiate the company from competitors.

Launching Products:

Overseeing the introduction of new rental equipment or services, including marketing, training, and sales support.

Collaboration and Communication:

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Working closely with sales, operations, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of product strategies.

Supplier Management:

Building and maintaining relationships with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to secure favorable terms and access to the latest technologies.

Customer Engagement:

Gathering feedback from customers to understand their needs and identify areas for improvement.

Performance Monitoring and Analysis:

Tracking Metrics:

Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as rental utilization, revenue, and customer satisfaction to assess the success of product strategies.

Data Analysis:

Analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in fleet management and product offerings.

Reporting:

Communicating performance results and recommendations to senior management.

Staff Training and Knowledge Development:

Product Knowledge Training:

Develop and lead training for the Sales, Operations, and Field Service team members .

Customer Support:

Be an available resource to customers who have specific vehicle and equipment questions.

Product Expertise:

Be the product expert for all PTR Product offerings.

REQUIREMENTS

MUST HAVE

3-5 years in product management, business analysis, or a related field, in logistics or supply chain.

Strong analytical abilities, data-driven decision-making, and an understanding of market research techniques.

Excellent organizational skills and a strong passion for customer service.

Proven ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and operations teams.

Ability to identify gaps in utilization and create strategies to improve market adoption.

Understanding of equipment or product specifications (or a willingness to learn quickly).

Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, maintain a flexible schedule, and be willing to travel to trade shows across the country.

On-site in Fort Worth, TX (25% travel)

Operating hours for PTR's offices are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CT
