$170,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Columbia, MD that is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Director of Finance to lead financial operations in a government contracting environment. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with FAR, DFARS, DCAA audit requirements, and other federal regulations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in government cost accounting, contract compliance, and financial leadership to support the company's growth and operational excellence. Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance Ensure full compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS (Cost Accounting Standards), and DCAA audit requirements Lead the preparation and submission of Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS) and other required government reports Manage indirect rate structures (e.g., fringe, overhead, G&A) and support pricing strategies for proposals Collaborate with Contracts, Program Management, and Business Development to support compliant and competitive bids Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure financial integrity and regulatory compliance Lead audits and reviews by external agencies including DCAA, DCMA, and independent auditors Provide strategic financial guidance to executive leadership and support long-term planning Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering a culture of compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement Oversee ERP system utilization and enhancements to support government contracting requirements Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred) Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in government contracting Deep understanding of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA audit processes Proven experience with Incurred Cost Submissions, indirect rate development, and cost proposal support Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet) and financial reporting tools Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required. Preferred Skills

CPA or CGFM certification Experience with small business set-aside programs Familiarity with contract types including CPFF, FFP, T&M Knowledge of GAAP and government audit standards The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
