Under the general direction of the Community Development Director, or designee. Performs responsible administrative and supervisory work in and with the community ensuring compliance in accordance with the Code of Ordinances and Land Development Code. Work includes planning, organizing, and directing the daily activities associated with the timely response to compliance related situations. Work is performed with considerable independence, while making decisions requiring the use of technical judgment, discretion, and diplomacy. Work is reviewed through reports, conferences, and obtained results. Responsibilities:

Manages and oversees the Community Compliance Officer and Administrative Assistant, as it pertains to the facilitation of the Code Enforcement Board. Coordinates with the Code Enforcement Board’s attorney and City Attorney on complex community issues. Manages violations of municipal license codes; and violations of other codes and ordinances; develops reports. Assists and provides information to the public in understanding various code and ordinance regulations and requirements. Manages complaints received concerning code and ordinance violations. Manages the City's Code Enforcement Board. Performs field inspections and investigates code and ordinance violations. Enters case details and supporting information into the case management software with accuracy. Follows up on investigations to achieve code compliance including re-inspections and contacting property owners. Prepares evidence and presents cases and findings to the City Code Enforcement Board, or Special Magistrate. Oversees nuisance abatement activities including debris right of way, lot mows and site clean-up activities. Removes prohibited signage from the public right-of-way. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements:

Knowledge of Florida Statutes, municipal codes and ordinances. General knowledge of code compliance procedures, including interpretation and investigation in order to bring violations into conformance. Ability to enforce municipal codes and ordinance impartially and with firmness and tact. Ability to handle complaints in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to work independently; to make sound decisions based on well established procedures and municipal regulations. Ability to establish and maintain activity files; to prepare reports as requested. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City Departments, subordinates, superiors, appointed and elected officials, citizens, other public agencies, and vendors. Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing. Training and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field; three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, community compliance, code enforcement, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred. Florida Association of Code Enforcement (FACE) certification in Fundamentals of Code Enforcement; Certification as a Code Enforcement Professional (CEP), or the ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire. Valid Florida Driver’s License. Physical Requirements:

Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction). Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid). Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Reaching. Use of fingers, use of hands. Sitting, standing, walking, bending. Ability to access, input and retrieve information and data from a computer. Environmental Conditions:
