Oct 25, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description Under the leadership of a new Director, SBCC is entering a phase of significant growth and leadership in the field. Stony Brook Cancer Center (SBCC) is seeking applicants at the Assistant, Associate or Professor levels in the areas of basic and/or translational research. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic growth environment, can engage across disciplines and is focused on making an impact. Candidates whose expertise synergizes with priority areas are of particular interest. The following three programs within the cancer center represent areas of strength: Oncogenic Drivers and Mechanisms of Carcinogenesis Lipid Signaling and Metabolism in Cancer Imaging, Biomarker Discovery and Engineering Sciences Overarching themes across programs include Population Sciences and in Community Outreach and Engagement. The successful candidate will be expected to collaboratively work toward building research excellence, with the goals of increasing knowledge in a transformative manner and improving outcomes for those with or at risk for cancer. This includes fostering growth and enhancing the external peer-reviewed cancer research in the Cancer Center. Applicants must be an accomplished scientist in cancer research, have track record in extramurally funded research and have a record of mentorship, all commensurate with rank. The successful candidate should hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent. Qualifications Required Qualifications:
PhD, MD, MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent) degree, independent cancer research program and current externally funded grant awards focused on cancer research. High impact publication record with current activity. Research focus that demonstrates ability to collaborate and highlight current Stony Brook Cancer Center Research Programs. Preferred Qualifications:
