Project Manager - Capital Equipment / Industrial Systems A growing manufacturer of large-scale mechanical systems is seeking a Project Manager to take ownership of complex capital projects from kickoff through installation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can balance multiple priorities, and enjoys blending technical problem-solving with hands-on project leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Lead complex capital projects, managing budgets, schedules, quality, and deliverables. Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring milestones and client expectations are met. Serve as the main point of contact for customers, contractors, engineers, and vendors. Review technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models to ensure project accuracy. Coordinate closely with internal teams (sales, engineering, fabrication, field service) to drive projects forward. Proactively address issues with contractors, suppliers, or internal stakeholders by proposing practical solutions. Prepare and maintain thorough project documentation, ensuring compliance with retention standards. Support installation and commissioning, including occasional site travel for field measurements, training, or troubleshooting. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance products and project execution.

Qualifications

5+ years of project management experience in industrial equipment, capital projects, or mechanical systems. Strong technical background; able to interpret engineering drawings and specs (SolidWorks familiarity preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software. Proven experience working with contractors, suppliers, and multiple stakeholders. Strong organizational, analytical, and conflict-resolution skills.

Preferred Experience

Knowledge of fabrication processes (welding, bending, machining, etc.). Exposure to conveyors, bulk handling, or rotating equipment (shafts, gearboxes, bearings). Experience with electrical power, instrumentation, or controls. ERP experience (Epicor a plus). PMP certification or willingness to pursue.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
