The Center for Dairy Research (CDR) is seeking a Program Coordinator to support a growing innovative unit on the UW-Madison campus. Housed in a new, state-of-the-art facility in Babcock Hall, CDR is the largest dairy foods research program in the US. The Center has over 60 full-time staff, supports graduate and undergraduate research, and provides technical and training support services to hundreds of dairy producers and processers around the globe. CDR is home to the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance (https://dbia.wisc.edu/). In partnership with the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, the DBIA administers programs providing technical assistance as well as grants to dairy farms and businesses in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The CDR is currently seeking a Program Coordinator to manage the administration of the DBIA program. This includes proactively working with regional collaborators to deliver the program's grant and technical assistance programs, providing reports and policy recommendations to the DBIA senior management team, and managing the full grant-making lifecycle of $3M in small business grants awarded through two applications cycles annually. The DBIA program coordinator will be responsible for application/program outreach, marketing and support, application review, facilitating meetings to make award decisions, applicant notification, award documentation, conducting webinars for applicants and awardees, communication coordination, report generation and additional grant support to CDR.
The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating participant-based programs, familiarity with grant-making activities and a proven record of efficiently managing multiple projects while maintaining high-quality output. They will showcase strong interpersonal and communication skills and have demonstrated experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders. Familiarity with USDA or other federal agencies, experience using data management and reporting systems, and a broad knowledge of best practices in communications are additional attributes that would be helpful in this role. The CDR is primarily an in-person work environment with occasional remote work available after initial training period. Key Job Responsibilities:

The minimum starting salary for this position is $55,000. However, final salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
