Job Title: Program Coordinator for the WIOA team

Role Description: Global Kids' (GK) mission is to educate, inspire, and mobilize youth to become global citizens who are positively engaged in the world and are prepared for their future. Over its 36-year history, the organization has engaged thousands of young people in its innovative youth development programs that promote global awareness and action, building their agency to affect change in their community and beyond.
The candidate will work in collaboration with the New York City Public Schools Office of Community Schools,
Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), and
Careers in Sports High School provides high-quality workforce services to high-school-aged youth.
The candidate will oversee employer and worksite engagement, youth
enrollment and job development, community partnerships,
quality assurance and program compliance, and career service delivery. Candidate will develop, plan, implement, and administer departmental workforce goals and objectives, and ensure all operational areas align with Global Kids' vision and mission.
Responsibilities:
Maintain all DYCD contractual obligations of the Workforce program and ensure that targets are met are being met on a weekly and monthly basis. Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, community members, school personnel, and other stakeholders. Manage the recruitment, registration, enrollment, participation, and payroll of program participants. Support youth in identifying their educational and career goals and plans. Complete the required documentation and submission via DYCD Connect. Oversee the development and execution of participant orientation and training workshops. Manages coordination for and youth enrollment, attendance, and payroll into CUNY courses. Implement and conduct weekly workshops on work readiness, career development, college readiness, life skills, service learning, and student enrichment. Manage database/inventory of employment, training, and internship opportunities. Perform general administrative duties, such as maintaining records, managing database systems, monitoring payroll for youth participants, and performing participant payroll. Collaborate with Global Kids staff and youth to generate new program ideas focused on global/local issues and aligned with the goals of Community School initiatives. These responsibilities are subject to adjustment based on organizational needs and priorities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, social work, non-profit management, or other relevant coursework or related work experience Experience and understanding of youth workforce programs At least 2-3 years of experience working with middle school or high school-aged youth At least 1-3 years of experience in workforce development, career counseling, case management, and/or program coordination Commitment to and understanding of working in culturally diverse settings and using antiracist pedagogical practices. Understanding of a wide array of NYC social service resources for youth Experience working in or with NYC public schools and a strong understanding of the NYC Community Schools Initiative and goals is a plus. Commitment to and understanding of working in culturally diverse settings and using antiracist pedagogical practices Familiarity with local placement agencies, job developers, and opportunities preferred
Salary/Benefits:
This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $$62,400.
