The ED develops, implements, and executes administrative policies and procedures for all functions, including day-to-day operations (classes and membership), grant-writing, marketing, and business development of the organization. . Position will remain open until filled. Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure Gizmo fulfills its mission of empowering creativity, innovation, and lifelong learning. Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set strategic goals and monitor organizational performance, managing donations and donors, and heads grant development. Reports to the Board President and provide regular updates and transparent reporting to the board. Manage human resources of the organization. Supervise staff and provides guidance and direction. Oversee Staff efforts to support our volunteers and members in programs and makerspace operations. Serve as the primary spokesperson and cheerleader to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the general public. Oversee public relations, marketing campaigns, and outreach strategies to grow awareness of Gizmo. Partner with the Innovative Educator to enable Gizmo to create and execute its K-20 programs. Must maintain a strong working relationship with NIC. Work to expand Gizmo-CdA’s partnership with NIC and maintain and strengthen the MOU. Develop an annual budget with the Treasurer for Board approval.Adheres to the approved budget. Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key organizations throughout the state and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the mission of the organization. This is an opportunity to lead a thriving center for creativity and innovation. Gizmo is more than a makerspace with a full range of tools—it’s a place that sparks curiosity and learning, where people share skills, exchange ideas, and inspire one another. Through K–12 classes, workshops, mentorships, and the time spent around gathering tables, learning, collaboration, and friendships grow, strengthening the community as a whole. This leadership position will strengthen Gizmo’s role as a trusted partner in education, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and community connection across Coeur d’Alene, Kootenai County, and North Idaho. Required Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of leadership/management experience (nonprofit, education, workforce development, or innovation-driven organizations). Proven fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations experience. Demonstrated ability to manage staff, volunteers, and community partnerships. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and reporting. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasionally evenings/weekends for events. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, education, engineering/technology, or related field. 6+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit or educational settings. Background in STEAM education, makerspaces, workforce development, or advanced manufacturing. Established connections with regional industry and community partners. Experience in strategic planning and scaling organizations/programs. Experience with facilities management, safety standards, and compliance. This is a part-time position (25–30 hrs/week) with a starting pay range of $32-$35/hour DOE. Paid holidays and PTO included. As Gizmo grows through increased grants, membership, class revenue, and partnerships, this role has the potential to transition to full-time with a salary range of $60,000–$73,000 annually, plus benefits.
