The Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company’s mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities, including IOP, PHP, and Residential programs, operate in full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This includes oversight of clinical, operational, and administrative compliance standards across the organization’s Florida and Tennessee locations. The Compliance Manager works closely with leadership to develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that safeguard regulatory adherence, accreditation standards, and internal quality control.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to align with federal, state, and local regulations (including HIPAA, Joint Commission/ CARF, AHCA, and TN Dept. of Mental Health requirements).

Monitor compliance across all program types (IOP, PHP, Residential) and ensure corrective actions are taken as needed.

Conduct regular audits and reviews of documentation, billing practices, patient records, and facility operations.

Collaborate with clinical, operations, and administrative leadership to provide compliance training for staff.

Investigate and address compliance-related complaints or incidents, documenting findings and resolutions.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of new standards.

Coordinate with external auditors, licensing boards, and accreditation bodies as required.

Develop compliance reporting metrics and provide leadership with data-driven insights on risk areas.

Assist with internal quality improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness and patient safety.

Act as a resource for staff and leadership on compliance-related questions and issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Compliance, Business, or related field required (Master’s ).

3–5 years of experience in compliance or quality assurance, preferably in behavioral health, mental health, or substance abuse treatment.

Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, HIPAA, and accreditation standards.

Strong organizational, auditing, and investigative skills.

Excellent communication and training abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance tracking systems.

Licensing/Certifications

but not required:

Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP).

Licensed clinician (LCSW, LMHC, LPC, RN) a plus, but not mandatory.

Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel between FL & TN facilities as needed.
