Trial Attorney

Defend insureds in litigation of cases in New York handling cases from inception of litigation through verdict or settlement. Attend depositions, court conferences and trials. Manage pleadings and documentary discovery. Evaluate liability and damages and report to carrier. Conduct legal research and motions. Responsibilities Defend insureds in litigation of cases in New York. Handle cases from inception of litigation through verdict or settlement. Attend depositions, court conferences, and trials. Manage pleadings and documentary discovery. Evaluate liability and damages and report to carrier. Conduct legal research and motions. Qualifications Juris Doctor and admitted to the NY State Bar required. 5-12 years of experience in general negligence litigation, including Labor Law. Required Skills Must have recent jury trial experience litigating multimillion dollar cases to verdict. Ability to handle litigations cases without oversight. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 required. Legal case management programs required, TrialWorks preferred. Excellent oral and writing skills documented by decisions on summary judgment motions or appellate briefs. Excellent research ability. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to work in a team environment is required. Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and efficiently prioritize work required. Ability to balance court appearances, depositions, and administrative work. Superior research skills and the ability to analyze complex matters required. Ability to travel to court appearances, site inspections, and depositions throughout New York.
