Our client is a privately-held construction business serving a broad range of commercial and residential customers in the Midwest. Headquartered in Madison, they have four offices and $200M+ in annual revenues. They are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their leadership team and serve as a strategic partner to the CEO. The CFO will be responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. They will collaborate with the CEO and the executive team to make decisions regarding the company\'s financial strategy and operations. The candidate should possess a strong background in finance and management. Core Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of financial management, including monthly reporting, work-in-process reviews, audits, payroll/benefits, tax compliance, and budgeting. Develop and oversee standard financial terms for agreements with customers and general contractors; review, negotiate, and execute significant contractual agreements. Advise project leaders and preconstruction teams on financial best practices, including: pricing structures, risk allocation, change-orders, insurance requirements, and payment schedules. Collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape long-term financial strategy, capital planning, and investment decisions. Translate financial data into meaningful insights that accurately inform critical business decisions. Ensure financial strategies align with the company’s reputation for quality and trust in every client engagement. Mentor, develop, and lead finance & accounting team Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA and/or MBA preferred. 15 years of experience in accounting/finance related fields; income tax knowledge preferred. Experience in or with construction companies preferred Details
