A manufacturer in East LA is looking for a Controller to add to their team. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for cash management, reviewing reconciliations, variance analysis, and month-end close. To be successful in this role, the Controller will need to be analytical, have great communication skills, and also be comfortable with being hands-on in accounting.
What do you need for this Controller role?
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field 15+ years of accounting experience Must have inventory accounting experience CPA or public accounting experience preferred but not necessary Strong knowledge of US GAAP Advanced Excel What will you do in this Controller role?
Oversee daily cash flow, monitor liquidity, and optimize working capital to support business operations. Manage and execute all month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Analyze financial and operational variances, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability. Prepare and present accurate financial reports in accordance with GAAP, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard cost updates. Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, identifying key drivers of performance and cost control measures. Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting systems to increase efficiency and accuracy. Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance efforts.
