Senior
Network Engineer
to support enterprise network operations for a large federal agency in Washington, DC. This position requires an
active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
and involves working onsite within a secure government facility. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of LAN/WAN environments, network performance optimization, and security compliance. What You’ll Do Administer, operate, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls. Provide network operational support, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. Collaborate with System Owners, ISSOs, and SMEs across network, security, and virtualization disciplines. Design, build, and implement scalable, fault-tolerant LAN/WAN architectures. Configure and optimize network connectivity for front-end and back-end components. Analyze customer requirements and develop integrated IT and network solutions. Develop and maintain documentation, reports, and network topology records. Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues using diagnostic and monitoring tools. Lead testing, installation, and integration of new network systems and upgrades. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to network support personnel. Research and evaluate emerging network technologies to enhance operational capabilities. Support system security accreditation and compliance activities. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Implement automation and proactive monitoring to ensure SLA compliance and high availability. What We’re Looking For Active
DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
(must already possess or be able to obtain). Minimum of
10 years of related experience
OR minimum bachelors of science, degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline and 5 years’ experience. Proficiency with
Cisco, Dell, Palo Alto , and other enterprise-grade networking equipment. Active certifications such as
CCNA, CCDA, CCDP , or higher. Demonstrated experience with LAN/WAN design, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of
network performance tools , traffic analysis, and capacity planning. Familiarity with
firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and TACLANEs . Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams in high-security environments. Preferred Qualifications & Certifications Experience supporting federal government network operations and accreditation processes.
