Cardiac Experience Within Career Strongly Preferred
Adult Acute Care NP Licensure or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP Licensure Strongly Preferred
The Cardiothoracic Surgery Progressive Care Units focus on Postoperative care of cardiothoracic surgery, LVAD, and Post-Heart Transplant Patient.
Overview
The nurse practitioner functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider, working within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to patients and families across practice settings. They demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses commonly encountered within the inpatient setting. Role Purpose
The role demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge, interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and systems-based practice. They work with staff, nurses, physicians, and medical/surgical trainees to assure safe, effective, quality patient care. Responsibilities
Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient and family-centered care for health recovery, illness prevention, treatment of critically ill, or end-of-life care. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs in an academic inpatient setting. Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other health professionals. Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative/performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job. Minimum Requirements
Master's Degree - Nursing Less than 2 years of experience Licensed APRN in Missouri National APRN Board Certification Preferred Requirements
Doctorate - Nursing 2-5 years of experience Benefits and Legal Statement
