Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange and precious & metals.
The Associate Director is responsible for working closely with Directors and Managing Directors to assist in all aspects of marketing clients, including coordinating activities with internal stakeholders, as well as preparing pre-meeting analysis, marketing materials, post-meeting analysis and client follow up within the Consumer, Industrial and Retail sectors.
What You'll Do
Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Perform client and prospect research, including industry analysis and company due diligence. Assist in the preparation of marketing materials for client calls, including Salesforce information, and work with product groups to put together pitch materials. Assist in preparation of post-meeting follow up, including supplemental materials and call reports. Analyze materials associated with new and existing client/prospect opportunities, including financial forecasts and models, return analysis, due diligence and documentation review. Actively participate in client meetings alongside Directors and Managing Directors. Over time, assume management of all client relationship activities on a select portfolio of accounts. Assist in the preparation of pre-approval memos and other client related documents. Assist the Team Lead in preparing portfolio analysis, prospect identification and product opportunities. Structure, analyze and perform due diligence on transactions that vary in complexity. Develop and maintain effective industry relationships with clients, other lenders, and legal counsel. Coordinate with various product groups within Global Banking and Markets. Expand industry and product knowledge. Provide day-to-day account management support. Guide and mentor junior staff. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk. Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation, or an MBA, CFA or CA designation. The Associate Director requires financial, accounting, computer literacy and excellent written and oral communication skills. A high level of energy, motivation, commitment and a strong sense of teamwork are needed to succeed in the role. Requires strong origination, credit, documentation, negotiation and communication skills together with a high level of awareness of Bank policies and an up-to-date knowledge of the local regulatory, legal, accounting, tax, insolvency environment and operational risk issues.
