Verizon is actively searching for a Prod Dev/Mgt-Sr Mgr as the key project stakeholder for transformative digital experiences and Open development initiatives. You will be part of the Open Development Device Certification team, interfacing with leading and emerging OEMs to certify FWA, IoT/M2M, Telematics devices and VBG device solutions. You will design, develop, certify and deploy state-of-the-art devices, impacting people’s lives, work and play. Responsibilities
Act as the key project stakeholder for partner device management and Open development initiatives. Interface with leading and emerging module and device OEMs to on-board, design, develop, certify and deploy FWA, IoT/M2M devices and Telematics devices. Increase the number of connections and devices on Verizon network for CAT M1, NB-IoT, CAT1-bis, 4G, 5G NSA/SA, 5G VoNR, 5G RedCap, and Non-terrestrial networks (NTN). Manage relationships with platform and solution providers for 4G LTE, 5G, private networks, Global and Mobile Edge Compute (MEC). Drive Verizon solution projects for Open development device security initiatives and manage FOTA, Location-based services and diagnostics certification for FWA, IoT/M2M and Telematics devices. Lead cross-functional efforts to launch new IoT, FWA, Telematics devices, products, services, solutions and technologies. Lead cross-organizational discussions to identify root causes and resolve complex customer issues. Develop and publish process metrics to improve IoT/M2M & FWA operations. Facilitate strategic discussions and brainstorm improvement opportunities with FWA and M2M operational teams. Perform data analysis to identify root causes of device certification issues and redesign processes to streamline Open development certification and operations. Develop workflow and process maps to drive detailed requirements and discussions; provide guidance on device requirements to OEMs. Ensure all certifications and maintenance releases are managed according to Open Development processes. Build strong partnerships with FWA and IoT/M2M device partners to meet certification requirements. Apply knowledge of the 5G deployment process to deliver private 5G networks across environments. Guide OEMs on technical specifications, marketing release notes, and portal usage. Coordinate with internal labs to plan tests, approve devices for third-party testing, and provide weekly status updates. Prioritize devices for test plan evaluation in internal labs. Develop, document and share processes supporting 5G SA/NSA, 5G RedCap, 5G VoNR, etc. Navigate complex business and management challenges, collaborating across internal teams and leading a small team focused on 5G requirements, testing scope, automation and IT integration. Manage projects related to SIM cards and eUICC (GSMA SGP.02, SGP.22, SGP.32) and establish testing/certification processes for FWA, IoT and Telematics devices. Manage SIM procurements, new SKU creation, requirements/certification process development, and inventory management. Set up device profiles for activation and billing; build and maintain partnerships with OEMs and SIM vendors. Interface with IT and PMO organizations to develop system enhancements; manage delivery timelines to streamline FWA and IoT/M2M processes. Monitor process performance to drive ongoing improvements and system enhancements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or four or more years of work experience. Six or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work, military experience, or specialized training. Five or more years of technology experience in engineering and development. Strong Product Development background focused on enterprise use cases around managed network services (SDN, MEC, Cloud, 4G & 5G). Knowledge of 5G NSA/SA, 5G RedCap, network slicing, IoT, cloud integrations, LPWAN technologies. Deep understanding of 5G/LTE technologies, standards and deployment architectures (including RAN, Core Networks, transport). Experience with managed network services (LAN, WAN, 4G or 5G) on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.). Demonstrated facilitation and project management capabilities with a track record of meeting deadlines. Ability to present complex ideas simply and obtain stakeholder buy-in; translate market/customer needs into cost-effective solutions. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management across organizations. Technical aptitude with understanding of IT, finance, contracting, onboarding, private networks, revenue assurance, provisioning and device/network management processes. Knowledge of systems such as M2M Operational Center, OD Portal, DMD, UWS/IoT Order Flow, Vision/CPI, 5G, LTE Compliance, Certification, RF Testing. Even better: Master’s degree; experience with global clients; strong analytical, data modeling, and user story skills; proficiency in JIRA, Agile, MS Office, Visio.
