Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting
Our client, a global payments technology company, is seeking a Senior Director of Corporate Accounting to lead key operational accounting functions.
Location: Foster City, CA. This position is hybrid, with onsite requirements Tuesday through Thursday. Shuttle service is provided throughout the Bay Area.
Job Description: This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing Treasury Accounting, Consolidations, Compensation & Benefits, and Payroll Accounting. The ideal candidate will bring a continuous improvement mindset, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
Responsibilities: Lead global financial consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and consolidated financial statement preparation. Oversee accounting for Treasury (cash, settlements, investments, hedging) and Compensation & Benefits (payroll, stock-based comp, equity). Ensure journal accuracy, reconciliation, and timely variance analysis during monthly close. Maintain strong SOX compliance and recommend enhancements to internal controls. Partner with global teams and shared service centers to streamline and standardize accounting operations. Drive process optimization through automation and methodologies like Lean Six Sigma. Build, mentor, and lead a global accounting team of 10, including 3 direct reports.
Requirements: CPA or international equivalent. 15+ years of accounting experience, including leadership roles in large, publicly traded, multinational organizations. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Proven success in managing global teams and driving complex accounting operations. Experience with systems such as Oracle FCC, Blackline, and Quantum.
