Position Summary LCCPS is seeking a
Food Service Manager
to oversee the daily operations of the school's food service program. This position
directly manages the food service vendor contract and supervises all food service staff
to ensure high-quality, compliant meal service for our students. The Food Service Manager will ensure that all meals meet the nutritional and safety standards established by USDA, federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience managing food service programs in
Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)
schools and will bring strong leadership, organizational, and compliance management skills. The Food Service Manager reports directly to the
Chief Operating Officer (COO).
This is a 10.5 month position, paid across 12 months. Summer and school vacations are off!
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all aspects of the school's food service program, including menu planning, procurement, production, and service.
Directly manage the food service vendor contract, ensuring compliance with performance standards and contract requirements.
Supervise, train, and evaluate food service staff, ensuring high standards of safety, sanitation, and customer service.
Ensure compliance with USDA, federal, state, and local regulations, including National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) requirements.
Manage CEP operations, including accurate recordkeeping, claiming, and reporting.
Develop and monitor food service budgets, cost controls, and inventory management.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Collaborate with school leadership to promote nutrition education and wellness initiatives.
Qualifications
Previous experience managing school food service programs;
experience with CEP schools strongly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of USDA meal pattern requirements and child nutrition regulations.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills with staff management experience.
Budget management and food procurement experience.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Required certifications:
ServSafe, Allergen Awareness, and other applicable food safety certifications.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Bilingual skills a plus.
