Job Description American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience and ARRT (R) certification to join an acute care trauma level 3 setting.
Responsibilities Work in an acute care hospital setting within the Interventional Radiology department Department features 3 procedure rooms: 2 biplane and 1 single plane, with access to a hybrid OR and CT/IR scanner Caseload averages 10-20 cases per day, plus 1-4 stroke cases per week, serving neuro IR, vascular, and neuro surgery patients Cerner EMR is used along with GE Centricity RIS and Philips Intellispace PACS Shifts consist of four 10-hour days, with start times at 7:00 AM or 7:30 AM, and end times at 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM Call required: 1-2 nights per week and 1 weekend per month, with a 30-minute response time Staff may float to the hybrid OR; experience in this area is preferred but not required Scrubs are provided by the facility Regular duties include performing all IR procedures for neuro and vascular cases, scrubbing in, and circulating No IV starts required; IR RNs perform this task IR techs are part of an interdisciplinary team with nurses and a lead IR tech, supported by in-house radiologists during the day and on-call radiologists at night Holiday shifts are expected if the holiday falls on a scheduled shift or call day First day consists of orientation modules in education, safety, and infection control, with a preceptor assigned for the first week Travelers are integrated into the on-call rotation and may select or swap call days Two IR techs are assigned per room
Requirements Active ARRT (R) certification required BLS certification required Washington state radiologic technologist license required; license required if applicable At least 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology is required Experience at a stroke receiving facility and prior travel experience are preferred Must provide a radiation badge Ability to scrub in and circulate for all IR procedures Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Driver’s license must be provided for consideration IV certification preferred Must submit two professional references: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years
