Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Location: Mid-Atlantic Division

Job Type: Full-Time

Travel: Up to 100%

Salary: Hourly Range: $27.15 - $43.45 and benefit package per Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Duties/Responsibilities/Physical Requirements:

1. Dismantle and reassemble gasoline & diesel equipment using various hand tools and/or hoists
2. Repair & replace major components, damaged and warn parts
3. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
4. Determine nature and extent of equipment failures
5. Identify required repair parts & supplies
6. Document maintenance and repair work performed
7. Record parts and supply usage
8. Access and repair components on heavy equipment with agility
9. Climb onto, into, and out of equipment using ladders
10. Work on uneven surfaces requiring agility to walk and work
11. Frequent climbing, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching
12. Maintain bodily coordination & dexterity of hands and feet
13. Ensure quality and timely completion of scheduled work
14. Work productively in personal protective equipment in all weather conditions
15. Perform safety-sensitive tasks in accordance with environmental and safety policies
16. Perform all work with regular and predictable performance

Education / Experience:

Candidates must have a HS diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years' experience repairing heavy equipment

Job Specific Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

1. Responsible and safety-minded
2. Ability to troubleshoot & analyze equipment malfunction
3. Knowledge of testing equipment, tools, and gauges
4. Basic knowledge of electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
5. Read & implement mobile equipment maintenance manuals
6. Ability to pass a DOT Physical
7. Commercial Drivers' License or ability to obtain one
8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
9. Good organization skills, effective communication, and multitasking ability
