We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Columbus, Indiana. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing daily financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of accounting records. Responsibilities:
• Process and maintain accurate records for accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Assist in preparing and managing billing functions, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing.
• Reconcile cash activity and maintain accurate financial records.
• Utilize accounting software systems, including Great Plains, to input and analyze financial data.
• Generate reports and summaries using Microsoft Excel to support management decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with financial procedures and company policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and resolve financial issues.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain organized documentation and filing systems for all financial transactions.• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Great Plains.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Experience with billing functions and cash activity reconciliation.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally.
• Previous experience in financial services or a similar role preferred.
