Job Summary
As a senior-level systems administrator, this position will demonstrate expertise in Windows and Linux environments and proficiency in VMware virtualization, system backup best practices, and HPE 3PAR storage arrays and HPE DL Servers. This role involves maintaining and optimizing system performance, ensuring data integrity and security, and implementing efficient IT solutions. The senior systems administrator will collaborate with the IT team to support the organizations technological infrastructure and contribute to its overall success.
Duties & Responsibilities Work directly with programs to ensure Information Technology infrastructure solutions meet the program requirements and schedules. Performs a multi-disciplined range of technical systems and application activities. Installs, configures, and maintains multiplatform systems hardware, software, and components. Administer and manage Windows and Linux systems in the operations, engineering, analysis, and test environments. Administer a hybrid Microsoft 365 and on-premises environment. Maintains Windows Systems comprised of servers and workstations. Administer installation of software, hardware, file system management, backups, process control, user administration, and device management Responsible for resolving a wide variety of complex system failures. troubleshooting software, hardware, and network problems. Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Active Directory domains and forests. Perform system and user account maintenance. Test and assess security configuration of Windows and Linux servers. Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance. Analyze, test, and implement security patches and hardening. Develop and promote standard operating procedures and conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Participate in internal/external security audits/inspections. Network monitoring & alerting (Nagios, Logic Monitor) Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required:
Strong understanding of standardized Network Protocols and Services (i.e., TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, etc.) Strong understanding of Group Policy management, S Microsoft 365 administration Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Must be able to multitask in a dynamic environment; develop solutions to various complex problems and plan, schedule and prioritize tasks. Administration of HPE 3PAR Arrays and HPE DL Servers Basic understanding of LDAP and SAML Education & Experience
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline with 6+ years of related experience in a network/system administration related support role. 5+ Years of Experience with performing system administration tasks on Windows and Linux hosts including patch management Experience integrating hardware and software components into a functional system. Experience computing administration to include managing Microsoft active directory design, deploy and operational support. Experience working with Virtualized Systems (i.e., VMWare) design and implementation. Experience with scripting for task automation (PowerShell, Batch, BASH) Experience with Linux RedHat/CentOS 7, 8 Experience with shell scripting (BASH, TCSH, and KSH) Desired:
Experience maintaining and operating a Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Experience with systems management and automation software (Endpoint Configuration Manager, Satellite, Ansible) Experience with Veeam
