PepsiCo is hiring: Maintenance Technician - 2nd & 3rd Shift in City of Albany

Overview

Maintenance Technician - 2nd & 3rd Shift at PepsiCo (PBNA).

PBNA $29.90 / hour. Opportunity to earn $29.90-$33.90/hour with career advancement. This position also comes with an opportunity to work through a developmental program focused to increase capability and compensation for the position.

Responsibilities

• Repair and install production/manufacturing equipment.
• Inspect equipment for proper functioning and perform preventative maintenance per manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments as needed.
• Work with outside contractors on assigned lines.
• Change lines for package changeovers.
• Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards.
• Work independently under limited supervision and document work schedule and tasks completed.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications:
  • 18 years or older.
  • Pass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas.
  • Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).
  • Experience with product manuals and applying knowledge to repairs.
  • Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and reading mechanical drawings (hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Helpful Experience:
  • Basic electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
  • Compressors/ammonia systems (refrigeration), conveyors/airveyors, electrical systems installation and troubleshooting.
  • Electronics (level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs), gearing/gear boxes, hydraulic systems, kinematics.
  • Experience with PLCs, pneumatics, preventive maintenance programs, pumps, schematics, SERVO/robotic motors.
  • Experience working in team-based environments.

Work Environment & Schedule

Position requires continuous work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals. Frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, bending. Weekend and/or holiday work may be required.
