Job Description

The Janitor position is responsible for performing all-purpose cleaning and preservation of the assigned area inside a building or multiple client sites. Tasks are not fixed and the janitorial crew must be flexible to perform duties per the client’s specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Empty and clean all waste containers and remove waste from premises to designated areas; damp wipe containers.
• Empty and clean ash trays, monitor sand urns and replenish sand as required.
• Dust all image frames, charts, graphs, and wall hangings.
• Damp dust ceilings, air diffusers, partition grilles, registers and other ventilating louvers.
• Vacuum mats and carpeted areas in workplaces, lobbies, and corridors.
• Hand dust and clean office furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills, and other flat surfaces.
• Wipe and buff metal hardware fixtures and other bright work.
• Clean and maintain tile floor services as required.
• Damp wipe and buff glass furnishings.
• Clean entry door glass (indoor and exterior surfaces).
• Remove stains from vertical surfaces such as doors, door frames, and areas around light switches and glass dividers.
• Wash, clean, and sanitize water coolers.
• Sweep stairways and vacuum if carpeted.
• Clean building floors by sweeping and mopping.
• Clean, sanitize, and restock supplies in bathrooms.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written and oral directions.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a janitorial-type position.
