Main Responsibilities Track & analyze cash position, assist in cash forecasting and reporting of net financial position; prepare, review and analyze financial information to ensure integrity is maintained
Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Responsible for preparations of journal entries, reconciliations and consolidated IFRS & GAAP financial reporting package to parent company
Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting; prepare tax worksheets and support schedules
Participate in external and internal audits as required
Maintain and develop internal control procedures; uphold Colas ethics and business principles
Ad hoc projects and reporting as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Education A bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in accounting, finance or other applicable degree.
Skills At least 7 years of accounting work experience
Construction industry accounting experience including WIP reporting
Strong knowledge of both GAAP and IFRS including revenue recognition and lease accounting standards; previous experience managing a small team
Ideal candidate will have CPA and/or CMA certification
Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize and follow-up on multiple concurrent tasks
Must possess excellent skills with Microsoft Windows and MS Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel (intermediate level)
Experience with JDE, Sage, Timberline, or other enterprise construction industry software is a plus
Highly motivated, positive, professional, organized, detail oriented, and an effective communicator
