Job Overview

This is a part-time position scheduled for up to 19.5 hours per week during the school year. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 6 to Grade 8 - $17.63 to $21.11 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes visitors to the school graciously.
  • Places and receives telephone calls cordially and accurately records messages.
  • Orders and maintains supplies, as needed, under the direction of the Building Principal.
  • Maintains student records.
  • Performs bookkeeping tasks.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing correspondence as instructed.
  • Coordinates appointments and arranges for conferences and interviews.
  • Prepares state attendance reports.
  • Maintains a regular filing system.
  • Tracks staff attendance, including substitute teacher records.
  • Assists in providing first aid and helps notify parents in case of illness.
  • Administers medication to students according to physician's orders. Maintains medication log.
  • Sorts and distributes all incoming mail.
  • Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Proficiency in secretarial skills of typing, filing, office procedures, operation of office equipment and machines, and computer functions.
  • Ability to work with staff, students and the public.
  • Two years experience in clerical or secretarial work requiring frequent contact with the public.

Working Conditions

This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty.
