Overview

JOB TITLE: Local Class B Truck Driver. REPORTS TO: Dispatch. SHIFT: 0430-0500 am Start; M - S. Local routes only; home every day.

NOTE: Immediate hire. Must be willing to drive Class B equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective relationships between the Company and the customer.
• Perform delivery service on designated assignments with the goal of completing the job.
• Ensure shipment paperwork (pro numbers, manifest, bills of lading, shipping orders, freight bills, etc.) is properly completed and accompanies each shipment when delivered.
• Reinforce marketing messages through daily conversations with customers; support targeted growth plans.

Safety

• Maintain a safe driving record as required and demonstrate safe, responsible driving practices.
• Operate the company vehicle safely; perform pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections; report defects immediately; keep interior clean and orderly.
• Ensure safe transport of material in accordance with federal regulations; verify proper shipping papers and loading procedures.
• Promptly report all accidents, delays, or irregularities related to pickup or delivery of freight.
• Submit all paperwork required by Federal DOT in a timely manner.
• Participate in random DOT drug testing program.
• Maintain security of freight and equipment.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Airbrake) with no pattern of moving violations/accidents in either a personal or commercial vehicle.
• Must possess or obtain a current DOT physical card and meet DOT drug/alcohol testing requirements.
• Must pass a company road test.
• One (1) year of applicable and verifiable CDL B driving experience required.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance.
• CDL B certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and complete required paperwork and reports.
• Desire to serve customers and support the service center team.
• Must meet the Company’s minimum qualified driver requirements as defined by Safety.
• Must be able to work required hours and wear steel-toed shoes/boots.
• A cooperative attitude and pleasant personality.
• Willingness to drive CDL B equipment for deliveries.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to heat and cold daily.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting from floor to knee, knee to waist, waist to shoulder.
• Occasional stooping, twisting, bending, climbing, crouching, kneeling; frequent reaching and sitting.
• Pallet-jack operation.
