What You Will Do
Join the team at Caterpillar’s newly established motor prototyping facility in Noblesville, Indiana—a key initiative supporting our electrification strategy. As a Manufacturing Technician, you will play a hands-on role in building, assembling, and testing advanced motor technologies that will shape the future of our products. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a startup environment within a global leader, contributing directly to innovation and product development from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and test electric motor prototypes according to engineering specifications.
- Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment and tools.
- Perform inspections and quality checks to ensure product integrity.
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to refine processes and designs.
- Document procedures, test results, and improvement opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement, safety, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma or associate degree in manufacturing, electronics, or related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, testing, or prototyping.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You Will Have
Operations knowledge of major functional processes and operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge to diverse situations. Level and competency guidance include the following:
- Operations: Identifies primary operational functions of the organization; explains interdependencies of departments; understands how units support enterprise strategy.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Engineering - MFG: Understanding of engineering concepts in a manufacturing environment; ability to apply engineering knowledge to manufacturing initiatives.
- Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment used in manufacturing; ability to operate and maintain them safely.
- Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes; ability to manage and monitor the manufacturing process.
- Manufacturing Safety: Ability to identify hazards and comply with safety regulations.

Summary Pay Range
$71,040.00 - $106,440.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Salary is one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
