Job Description:

We’re seeking a dedicated Gear Design Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer to serve as our gear expert, supporting both of our facilities in Johnstown, PA and Blairsville, PA. This is an excellent opportunity with a stable, growing organization in a critical industry.

What You Will Do:

  • Design, develop, and optimize gear manufacturing processes (machining, hobbing, grinding, heat treat)
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure quality and performance
  • Select appropriate tools, materials, and machines for gear production
  • Design fixtures and special tooling to support manufacturing
  • Implement and support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for gear-related and product issues
  • Stay current with industry trends, gear standards (AGMA, ISO), and emerging technologies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years in high-volume gear manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of gear types (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and gear cutting methods

The base pay range for this role is $95,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr, with additional compensation types including an Annual Bonus.
