ALL ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE
The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency. This team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food & Beverage areas of the store.
Starbucks Barista Role
- As a Starbucks Barista, provide a consistent Starbucks experience for guests by curating handcrafted Starbucks food quality and freshness management.
- Follow state and federal food safety guidelines and OSHA guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest’s needs over task.
- Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage Standards.
- Execute food and beverage processes including deliveries, replenishment, in-stocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, organizing, and storing reserve product.
- Stay aware of current and future promotions within Starbucks.
- Follow Target and Starbucks routines to deliver a consistent guest experience while completing tasks efficiently and maintaining food safety.
- Support the Starbucks Drive Up process to ensure digital guest orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Maintain an inviting dining area for guests during shifts.
- Engage with guests to meet and exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards.
- Produce handcrafted beverages and food to specifications on recipe cards.
- Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature-sensitive items.
- Complete and record all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space as outlined in best practices.
- Identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to best practice.
- Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices.
- Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Execute sampling best practices.
- Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve issues and improve the guest experience.
- Complete required training and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner; comply with safety policies and report hazards.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup, and Drive-up while ensuring compliance with laws.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
- Engage with guests to help solve their needs and thank them for visiting Target.
- All other duties based on business needs.

The good news is that we have training to help you become a Starbucks Barista; some skills to have from the start include:
- Previous Starbucks/food service experience preferred, but not required.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
- Ability to communicate using multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and other equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and resolve guest questions quickly.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Basic Realities
- Handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb ladders as required.
- Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds.
- Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; reliable attendance required.
- Work in environments with varying temperatures and allergens; drive-up and carryout duties may be included.
- Remain mobile for the duration of a shift.
