Overview
Consulting Field Solutions Architect - Virtualization. This execution-focused role is critical for designing, validating, and documenting innovative virtualization solutions that support go-to-market efforts for Enterprise customers globally. You will be a member of a collaborative, cross-functional team driving solution delivery from concept to final documentation, leveraging Pure’s platform to address real-world challenges for customers, partners, and internal teams. This role can be based anywhere in the U.S. What You'll Do
Virtualization Solutions Development: Define and execute the solutions roadmap by designing, developing, validating, and delivering virtualization solutions built and integrated with Alliance products and Pure’s product suite. Develop Technical Collateral: Create technical documentation including reference architectures, best practices, white papers, and solution briefs for virtualization workloads targeted to technical and non-technical audiences. Lab Validation and Demonstration: Build, validate, and document solutions using Pure Storage technologies in a lab environment. Stakeholder Engagement: Present solutions to customers, partners, and internal teams, translating technical details into business value and actionable insights. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product management, field architects, professional services, and marketing to align solutions with go-to-market strategies and customer objectives. Technical Marketing Support: Collaborate with marketing to develop messaging, presentations, and technical content that highlights the business value of Pure Storage solutions for virtualization workloads. Professional Documentation: Plan, outline, and publish professional technical documents on schedule with accuracy and clarity. Customer-Focused Solutions: Understand real-world customer challenges and deliver practical, impactful solutions. Collaborative Teamwork: Work within a team and cross-functionally to achieve goals and drive innovation. Effective Communication: Communicate clearly in verbal and written form to appropriate audiences. Manage Multiple Priorities: Handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment to ensure timely delivery of projects. What You Bring
Infrastructure and Platform Expertise: In-depth knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V, Azure Local, OpenShift, Kubernetes, KVM) with understanding of storage and networking, performance tuning, Kubernetes, scripting languages, and operating systems. Storage Proficiency: Understanding of block, file, and object storage protocols (e.g., FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB, S3) and their use in high-performance environments. Platform Knowledge: Expertise in hybrid cloud platforms, including public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hyperscaler virtualization technologies. Solution Architecture: Ability to design, document, and validate comprehensive solutions covering software stack through infrastructure. Technical Marketing Skills: Ability to collaborate with marketing to create content, presentations, and messaging that communicates technical capabilities and customer value to target audiences. Performance Optimization: Knowledge of I/O protocols, pathways, and tuning for real-world and benchmarking environments. Supporting Skills
Understanding of large-scale environments and how to optimize architectures for efficiency and performance across the stack. Systems Engineering Knowledge: Linux, Windows, PowerShell, Bash/Python scripting, IP networking, Ansible, Terraform, and enterprise automation/orchestration tools. Diagnostic Skills: Strong troubleshooting capabilities for performance issues. Technical Curiosity: Continuous learning mindset to explore new trends and respond to industry changes. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience in virtualization architecture, solutions, and enterprise design. Proven ability to execute strategies and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with organizational goals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on practical solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and executive audiences. Adaptability to learn new technologies and evolving needs. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
