Position Summary

Supports the General Manager (GM) in collaboration with the US management team to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and annual company goals through strategic vision, inspiration, and proper communication. Leads by closely aligning decisions, behavior and strategy to the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the company. Develops, reviews, updates and implements business strategic planning, including plans & procedures, participates in developing department goals, objectives and measurement systems. Implements and updates the compensation program as requested; develops & rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts salary surveys and assists in developing merit pool bonuses; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains a handbook on policies and procedures. Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt, and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts pre-employment screening; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors training program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews. Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed. Develops and administers health and welfare plans, including approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of plans for cost effectiveness, enrollments, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions. Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors. Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; and representing the organization at hearings. Develops and maintains the payroll, time/attendance, and human resource information system (HRIS) records and compiles reports from the database. Administers the 401(k) Plan and leave and accommodation requests while remaining compliant with applicable Federal and State laws and company policy. Stays abreast of the latest ecommerce industry trends and technologies and develops plans to integrate into the company’s operations to stay relevant and improve operational efficiencies. Travels via automobile, train, or aircraft domestically and/or internationally. Travel may be up to 3 times a year; duration may be up to 2 weeks Consistent attendance in compliance with the Aosom Attendance Policy, and for the expected performance level of the above duties. 4-year college degree from an accredited university in Human Resources or related field of study; or equivalent combination of education and/or Human Resources experience. 6 years’ experience in the above Essential Duties, with a preference in the e-commerce industry SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional of Human Resources (PHR), or Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) credentials. Physical Demands & Working Environment
Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require walking and standing occasionally. Must be able to use the telephone and sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available.
