This position requires a criminal background check; you may be asked to provide information about your criminal history. Key Responsibilities
Provide legal advice, guidance, and interpretation on a wide range of issues involving government contracts, contract compliance, and procurements. Develop, review, and revise TennCare contracts including statements of work, interagency agreements, and other documents. Build relationships and collaborate with other OGC attorneys, counterparts at other state agencies, contractor representatives, internal program staff, and executive leadership. Conduct research, provide legal guidance, and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines as assigned by the supervising attorney. Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of TennCare program areas. Hybrid work schedule and in-office presence at least one day per week or as assigned by the supervising attorney. Minimum Qualifications
Active License to practice law in Tennessee is required. Preferred Experience: 3+ years of relevant legal experience. Desirable Qualifications
Demonstrable communication, legal research, and writing skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain excellent professional and interpersonal relationships and handle multiple tasks on complex issues. Experience in Medicaid, healthcare, or disability-related programs is preferred. Experience writing and revising contracts involving governmental or public entities is preferred.
