Responsibilities
As a Tax Senior Services Manager, you’ll work on engagements spanning 100+ countries with local EY teams of 300+ people. You will help validate and govern global finance operations using one global methodology to track end-to-end processes and provide subsidiary governance throughout the legal-entity life cycle to mitigate risk and increase corporate transparency. Manage and provide timely, high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations, including daily contact with EY local ACR teams to ensure services are delivered on time and accurately the first time Demonstrate professionalism, protect confidential client information, and respond to queries from clients and internal stakeholders in a timely manner Serve as the point of contact for applicable client relationships, demonstrating knowledge of client businesses Develop and guide senior/staff and other junior professionals by providing performance feedback aligned with skills and development goals Assist in deploying the right engagement team leveraging US ACR resources and Global Delivery Service locations Keep up-to-date on global trends, regulations and apply them to moderately complex situations; undertake non-routine, complex project work as requested Maintain data and analyze trends; support statutory reporting and bookkeeping processes/procedures documentation to remain current Take ownership of engagements, make decisions, resolve issues, and escalate client/internal partner issues when needed; work well under pressure and meet deadlines Contribute to team success by understanding EY methodologies and tools, communicating progress, seeking assignments, and pursuing process improvements Support scoping of new opportunities and proposals; participate in oral presentations Qualifications
To qualify for the role you must have: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, or related business major 8–10 years' experience in audit/accounting CPA license or state bar membership (or approved technical certification) required Knowledge of global statutory reporting and/or bookkeeping, preferably across multiple countries Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills; problem-solving ability and attention to detail US GAAP knowledge including GAAP reconciliation experience Strong business English communication skills Advanced Microsoft Excel and IT concepts Ability to analyze historical legal entity financial information to determine GAAP adjustments and rolling forward in statutory statements Ability to apply technical accounting knowledge to analyze account balances and reconciliations for monthly/quarterly/annual close Ability to identify root causes of deliverable status issues and develop remediation Ability to drive continuous improvement to enhance quality, visibility, efficiency and client experience Ability to influence change within EY and with clients Travel ability: 20–30% to client locations Ideally, you’ll also have: Client-facing exposure in a global role Basic understanding of IT systems (SAP, Oracle, Business Central) Basic understanding of other compliance activities such as global indirect tax (VAT, GST) and corporate tax IFRS knowledge What We Look For
