We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our
Federal Tax Consulting Services
team in a
R&D Senior Tax Manager
role focused on expanding revenue and delivering exceptional value to our clients. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with practice offices and the business development team to support both existing client relationships and new opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who brings deep technical expertise, a strategic mindset, and a passion for mentoring and growth. Responsibilities
Deep understanding of IRC Sections 41 and 174 and related regulations and guidance Develop and execute project work plans Lead technical interviews with client personnel such as scientists and engineers Develop appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results Drive business development and sales growth Manage risk and technical review of R&D projects Lead Federal and state controversies related to R&D tax credits and Section 174 Exhibit proven leadership and project management skills in managing client service teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced and interactive team environment to meet and exceed client expectations Strong data management skills, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills Ability to mentor and develop managers and young professionals, including on the job technical training and coaching; exceptional client service and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Engineering or related field (Master's in Taxation a plus) Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in public accounting, with strong preference for Big 4 firms or large regional firm backgrounds Proven expertise in R&D tax credit consulting, with emphasis on Sections 41 and 174 Active CPA, EA or PE required Demonstrated success in managing client relationships, leading teams, and developing business We expect the candidate to uphold Crowe’s values of Care, Trust, Courage, and Stewardship.
