Position Summary
Lead the engineering efforts for Design Build & Design Assist projects. Create Process Systems and Utilities for Life Sciences and Tech arenas, including Research & Development along with Manufacturing and Production Scaleup. Support the Project Life Cycle, including Sales, Design, Construction, and Commissioning. Interface with Murray Project Managers, Detailers, Field Labor, as well as external team members such as architects, engineering, and automation specialists. Evaluate cGMP projects for FDA compliance as well as ensuring Good Engineering Practices are being executed. Responsibilities
Program process and generate Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Mass & Energy Balance Analysis Generate Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Orthographic Piping Drawings for Permit and Construction Create Sequence of Operations and other graphical flow charts to guide Building and Process Automation Designs Configure process utility systems, specify and select unit operation (equipment), assist in the quotation process, and evaluate vendor proposals Evaluate piping systems\' materials of construction (MOCs) including 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy, Al6XN; polymers such as CPVC, Polypropylene, PVDF, or thermosetting plastics Review submittals including equipment, specialty valves, and instrumentation Design systems including Clean-in-Place (CIP), Clean Steam, Purified Water, High Purity gases, Bulk Chemical Distribution, Steam & Condensate, Refrigerated Glycol, Cryogens, and other specialty fluids Respond to field questions from Project Management and Field Labor (code compliance, corrosion compatibility, feasibility questions) Visit sites for pre-bid evaluations, construction progress inspections, and startup Assist in developing commissioning plans including passivation of hygienic systems Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards to ensure delivery of quality within budget Manage continuous improvement of internal design standards and quality procedures Review project proposals to determine scheduling, funding limitations, procedures for design, staffing requirements, and resource allocation Qualifications
10 years\' experience designing process systems and utilities 5 years\' experience leading design and engineering teams Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California preferred Demonstrated ability to manage complex construction projects from inception to completion Demonstrated ability to execute and/or manage CAD/Revit/BIM operations Strong verbal and written communication skills Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds Must have adequate ability to read printed and digital documents Compensation
$175,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year Benefits and Total Rewards
