We seek a motivated, energetic, and skilled accountant to join the Subsidiaries Reporting team in our Controller’s Organization. This is an individual contributor role that oversees our offshore team and collaborates across teams to deliver high-quality financial reporting in a timely and accurate manner. The Team

The Subsidiaries Reporting team is part of MassMutual’s Corporate Finance Organization. Team members deliver timely and accurate financial reporting data to internal and external customers while supporting financial reporting controls. The Impact

You will compile, review, and deliver internal GAAP consolidated financial statements and audited financial statements for various non-life subsidiaries (including venture capital, asset management, foreign entities, and holding companies). You will also support annual separate accounts reporting and SEC filings, and collaborate with the broader Controller Organization and external customers. Responsibilities

Lead the offshore teams to prepare, review and submit the subsidiaries’ financial reports with full footnote disclosures in a timely and accurate manner Perform flux analysis, complete audit tie-out packages, and implement effective controls during the reporting process Ensure newly adopted GAAP accounting changes and updated accounting disclosure checklists are properly reflected in financial reports Monitor key subsidiaries reporting elements such as materiality thresholds, unbooked entries, management fees, capital transactions, hierarchy changes, and audit adjustments Collaborate with external auditors and audit coordinators during various subsidiaries audits Coordinate NAIC annual statements for one reinsurer including Blue Book, Green Book, and supplement reports Supervise the offshore team and assist with US Government quarterly/annual surveys Assist in reviewing MassMutual Green Books and registrant reports Manage priorities, ensure timely communication of deliverables, and lead problem-solving discussions Collaborate with investment accounting, insurance accounting, subsidiaries controllership, investment operations, accounting policy and controls oversight, financial close & consolidations, corporate tax, expense management, capital management, and other departments as appropriate Continuously improve processes and audit efficiency and support critical projects/initiatives The Minimum Qualifications

BS in accounting or finance 6+ years of experience in financial analysis and reporting The Ideal Qualifications

MBA or equivalent preferred CPA qualification strongly preferred Significant knowledge and experience of US GAAP and statutory reporting Well organized with close attention to detail Strong oral and written communication skills Demonstrated accountability and commitment Strong multi-tasking skills and adaptability Ability to proactively take ownership and drive assignments to completion Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment to meet deadlines Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional groups Experience in a Finance transformation setting, driving continuous improvements and efficiencies beyond own scope Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint Experience with Power BI and/or Alteryx would be a plus What to Expect as Part of MassMutual and the Team
