As a member of the Domestic Tax Unit, you’ll have an opportunity to join an engaged team of professionals who work to reduce the Company’s exposure to tax risks, support M&A transactions, provide high-quality tax advice, and satisfy tax accounting, reporting, and compliance requirements for the Company’s domestic life insurance companies and its non-insurance subsidiaries. Role Details

Type: Full-Time Location: Boston, MA or Springfield, MA The Team

This role reports to the Domestic Tax – Life Tax Lead within the Corporate Tax Department. The team handles federal and state tax compliance, GAAP and Statutory tax accounting, quarterly and annual income tax provisions, financial statement reporting, and income tax planning and forecasting. Prepare and review income tax provisions following GAAP and statutory accounting rules (ASC 740 and SSAP 101). Prepare and review Federal tax forms for domestic life insurance and non-insurance subsidiaries. Support GAAP and statutory audits and assist with IRS audits. Assist with tax planning, M&A transactions, and modeling tax impacts of legislation and capital projects. Develop relationships with internal and external clients. Collaborate with external auditors during audits. Conduct technical research and document conclusions. Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of tax accounting experience (GAAP – ASC 740). Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field. Preferred Qualifications

Strong corporate tax technical knowledge. Experience with insurance tax accounting (Statutory SSAP 101). Proficiency with tax compliance software, GL systems, and research tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to research issues and recommend solutions. CPA or MST preferred. What We Offer
