In May of 2025, Truss Peak acquired Leaders Life Insurance Company, a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based provider of life and health insurance products licensed in 15 states. Truss Peak expects to be highly acquisitive and has a strong pipeline of acquisition opportunities. Position Director of Business Development Location Flexible, with a strong preference to the Eastern and Central part of the US within reasonable driving distance to a major airport. A portion of time will be spent on site between company locations in Charlotte, NC and New York, NY, with the remaining portion of time being remote or traveling for business. Reports To President and Chief Investment Officer Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to drive growth and expand our life reinsurance business. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in business development, sourcing strategies, relationship-building with potential counterparties, and the ability to assist with high-value transactions from origination through execution. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute business development strategies to source and execute upon M&A targets in the life insurance market Identify and evaluate new opportunities including acquisitions, partnerships, and reinsurance transactions Build and maintain relationships with life insurance companies and other industry participants Travel to and meet with prospective acquisition targets Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, legal, and finance teams to assist in transaction due diligence and execution Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics Represent Truss Peak at industry conferences and professional associations Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance/Accounting or related field required Experience : Minimum 10+ years of professional experience with 5+ years in business development Proven track record working on and closing M&A transactions M&A experience in financial services / insurance is a plus Skills : Exceptional communication and presentation skills Strong relationship building skills Strategic thinking with entrepreneurial mindset Proficiency in financial analysis tools and CRM systems Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Strong attention to detail and general proactiveness Travel : Up to 40%, including travel to company locations in NC and NY Competitive base salary and performance-based bonus, including participation in Truss Peak’s management incentive plan Professional development and career growth opportunities Truss Peak Holdings LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
