Beveridge & Diamond seeks an experienced Conflicts/New Business Intake (NBI) Staff Attorney to manage firmwide conflicts processes and ensure compliance with ethical and professional obligations. This role supports new business intake, conflicts clearance, and firm business contract review. The Conflicts/NBI Staff Attorney reports to the General Counsel and is supported by a Conflicts Analyst. This is a new position and an opportunity to enhance the firm’s NBI protocols and implement best practices at the nation’s top-ranked environmental law firm. Responsibilities

NBI/Conflicts Analysis/Resolution Process Management: Manage workflows for new clients and matters, review conflicts reports, work with attorneys to resolve legal, business, and ethical issues, and draft waivers where needed. Review engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, conflict waivers, and other required documentation in compliance with firm policies and rules of professional conduct. Communicate with clients as directed by relationship attorneys and escalate matters for higher-level review as necessary. Lead conflict checks for new and ongoing matters and implement Intapp Walls to enforce ethical screens and restricted access. Documentation & Compliance: Draft approvals, maintain records, and report on obligations. Update and manage template forms and standard communications. Firm Business Contracts: Review and negotiate commercial contracts related to firm operations. Develop template agreements and pre-approved clauses; collaborate with the O&G Committee or General Counsel on complex matters. Client Surveys & Engagement Materials: Serve as primary contact for client surveys and engagement-related questions. Coordinate responses with internal departments and client relationship attorneys. Update outside counsel guidelines and engagement letters as needed. New Hire Conflicts & Ethical Walls: Lead conflict checks for new hires and establish Intapp Walls to ensure compliance. Draft communications and monitor wall configurations. Policy, Training & Research: Partner with the General Counsel to research and advise on conflicts and NBI matters. Deliver training on compliance standards and firm policies across jurisdictions. Metrics & Supervision: Generate reports on NBI workflows, support client/matter analysis, and supervise the Conflicts Analyst, including performance reviews. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications

Education: College degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; active member in good standing of a bar. Experience: Two years of experience in a law firm as an attorney preferred; at least two years in conflicts-related work; experience in environmental and litigation practice and related conflicts is a plus. Technical Skills: Familiarity with Intapp Open for conflicts workflows and Intapp Walls; familiarity with iManage preferred. Knowledge: Understanding of Rules of Professional Conduct and conflicts rules across multiple jurisdictions; knowledge of corporate structures, finance, and litigation processes. Communication: Ability to explain complex legal/compliance matters in writing and verbally; draft required language for conflict resolution and outside counsel guidelines. Organized: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. Work Environment

B&D operates in a hybrid model. The position requires at least three days per week in-office presence in one of B&D’s offices (Washington, DC preferred). Some travel may be necessary for training and meetings. Benefits Summary
