Lead, Analyst (Metering Solutions) – Delta Utilities

Overview The Lead, Metering Solutions Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing the operations of Itron Metering Solutions, including Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Automated Meter Reading (AMR) technology. This leadership role ensures data integrity, identifies and resolves technical issues, addresses error codes and alerts from metering systems, and provides support to field personnel, billing staff, and customers. The Lead Analyst directs collaboration between cross‑functional teams and guides junior staff to ensure seamless operations and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Continuously monitor the performance of Itron metering systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Identify and address anomalies, communication failures, or system outages.

Analyze meter data to detect usage patterns, trends, and potential issues. Validate and reconcile meter data with billing systems to ensure accuracy.

Lead investigations and resolutions of technical problems related to meters, communication networks, and software applications. Coordinate with field personnel and create and track work orders to address hardware and network issues or meter replacements and repairs.

Generate and distribute detailed reports on meter performance, data quality, and system health. Provide insights and recommendations to improve system efficiency and accuracy.

Respond to customer inquiries related to meter data, usage discrepancies, and technical issues. Provide clear and accurate information to resolve concerns.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all activities.

Lead collaboration with IT, engineering, field operations staff, and the Billing Back Office to ensure seamless integration and operation of the metering systems. Drive cross‑functional initiatives to resolve discrepancies and improve efficiency.

Provide training, mentorship, and support to lower‑level staff and new hires on metering system operations, data analysis, and troubleshooting techniques.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in utility system operations, data analysis, or a related field, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Preferred)

Familiarity with Metering Solutions, including AMI and AMR technologies, plus proficiency with data analysis tools and software applications (GIS, Work Management Systems, Continuous Improvement Systems). Strong understanding of metering principles and communication networks.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends and anomalies.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical information clearly to various stakeholders.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.

Demonstrated ability to lead collaboration with Field Staff and Billing Back Office teams to resolve issues and enhance operations.

Ability to mentor and guide staff, fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Able to sit for extended periods of time.

Able to operate office equipment such as copier, fax, calculator, and telephone.

Able to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or move objects.
