A nation-wide storage and logistics company is looking for an Operations Supervisor to join the team at their Washington, DC location. The successful candidate will oversee the facility’s technical staff in the safe storage and handling of important and diverse collections. The position will be responsible for leading, managing and mentoring a team as well as coordinating special logistical projects with the in-house Account Managers and other senior managers. This position requires a minimum of 7 years in a warehouse, project management, or logistics role, with at least 5 years of effective people management experience. Hands-on preparator experience and familiarity with working with art professionals are required. The role involves managing large-scale, multi-year projects, adhering to budgets, and maintaining effective communication across teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collections management databases is expected. Responsibilities

Oversee all day-to-day operations related to a large-scale, multi-year project in Washington, DC, coordinating onsite and offsite teams and third-party vendors Ensure paperwork such as Warehouse Receipts, BOLs, Condition Reports/Checks and other inventory audits are completed accurately and timely Support work execution in line with prepared estimates and provide updates on progress against budget Communicate schedule, staffing, and upcoming project phases with on-site contacts Prepare pack and crating plans and coordinate with departments and third parties to execute plans Conduct site visits and provide on-site supervision as needed Lead training for the Washington, DC Operations team on handling practices, rigging, inventory control, NetSuite, and internal policies Close out Work Orders in NetSuite Oversee procurement of supplies for the project and daily needs Ensure the warehouse is secure and functioning daily Process pertinent accounts payable Collaborate with Operations teams in other locations to align policies and procedures Assist in setting goals and objectives under the company Performance Management program; provide quarterly feedback and annual reviews for direct reports Mentor, coach, and motivate direct team members to foster a positive work environment Qualifications

5+ years of demonstrated effective people management experience 7+ years in warehouse, project management and/or logistics (art logistics/warehousing preferred) Experience interacting with art professionals Excellent communication and multitasking skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and collection management databases Physical ability: push/pull 150 pounds with a dolly, 50 pounds without aid; carry 40 pounds up to 90 feet; ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead Familiarity with hand trucks, pallet jacks, j-bars, dollies and other warehouse equipment This on-site position requires presence at the DC facility and project location five days a week, with occasional nights and weekend work.
