Overview
Senior Business Analyst position with King County, WA (King County International Airport Division). The role focuses on serving as a subject matter expert in business solutions applications and systems, supporting data-driven decision making and continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and workflows. The Airport aims to become more data-driven in operating and capital investments to be a world-class airport. Responsibilities
Lead multidisciplinary teams by facilitating requirements gathering with internal and external customers and train users on data visualization tools and reporting. Manage projects from initial proposals (RFPs) through final product implementation, coordinating timelines, stakeholders, and vendors. Oversee solution implementation, assess feasibility, document gap analyses and cost/benefit findings, and improve cost effectiveness of business solutions. Perform systems administration, configuration, maintenance, audits, QA, data integrity checks, and customize applications by modifying fields or panels. Draft and finalize business processes, workflow documentation, system diagrams, configuration documents, and other technical documentation; include value stream mapping and statistical analysis. Manage vendors with clear communication, assess performance, and foster collaboration to resolve issues. Support problem solving and process improvement initiatives in partnership with the Airport team, KCIT, and vendors, including requirements gathering, data mining, functional specs, process diagramming, metrics, and dashboards. Keep applications up to date with aviation industry trends and coordinate with KCIT/vendors on implementation, configuration, and integration of new or existing systems. Lead testing plans to ensure systems meet business requirements; validate functionality against specifications. Document current and future state business processes and workflows across the organization. Prepare system documentation and standard work; create dashboards and maintain system documentation and training materials. Educate and train multidisciplinary teams on process improvement and change management to achieve continuous improvement goals in quality, cost, and service delivery. Develop feedback systems to assess continuous improvement strategies. Qualifications and Skills
Strong experience in project management across Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies. Experience leading requirements gathering and documenting business processes and workflows; analytical skills across multiple disciplines (e.g., asset management, work orders). Robust experience in business analysis, system implementation, gap analysis, and system integrations; SDLC understanding from planning to deployment. Data visualization and analytics experience with BI tools (Power BI); ability to tell data-driven stories and define KPIs. Experience with asset management systems (Cityworks), aviation applications (Veoci), and related systems; strong data analytics capabilities with Microsoft Power BI. Proficiency in writing system documentation, SOPs, training manuals and videos; strong customer service and end-user training skills. Knowledge of SharePoint, Active Directory permissions, GIS-centric applications or GIS data usage. Strong troubleshooting and systems analysis capabilities; ability to diagnose and resolve system-related problems. Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, Excel, Visio, Word, Stream, Power Automate, Forms) and staying current with technical skills. Preferred Experience
Diverse group dynamics and change management experience. Continuous improvement methods such as Lean; collaborative and customer-service orientation. Flexibility to multitask in a rapidly changing environment; mentoring and knowledge-sharing abilities. Additional Information
