The Women's Leadership Institute is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven
Director of Business Development
to expand our corporate partnerships and steward meaningful relationships with organizations across Utah. This role is perfect for a development professional who thrives on cultivating long-term connections, building strategic pipelines, and aligning companies with initiatives that drive both workplace impact and community change. Hybrid: two in-person days per week required in our Salt Lake City office. What You'll Do
Grow Corporate Partnerships
Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate donors to expand WLI’s annual revenue. Steward and renew relationships with existing corporate partners, ensuring strong alignment and satisfaction. Develop customized proposals and partnership packages that highlight the value of investing in WLI’s mission. Lead the ElevateHER™ Challenge
Manage and grow participation in WLI’s flagship ElevateHER™ Challenge as a top-of-funnel engagement program. Recruit new companies into the Challenge and guide them through onboarding and annual commitments. Support companies in achieving measurable outcomes in leadership, pay equity, mentorship, and representation. Advance Donor Engagement
Collaborate with WLI’s CEO and board to leverage networks for introductions and donor cultivation. Ensure seamless donor stewardship, reporting, and recognition to deepen long-term relationships. Track and analyze revenue performance, providing regular updates to leadership. Support Strategic Growth
Align business development strategies with WLI’s organizational priorities and programmatic goals. Partner with the marketing team to highlight ElevateHER™ companies and donors in WLI’s storytelling. Contribute to strategic planning to expand WLI’s reach and increase impact in Utah and beyond. Build strategic alliances with peer nonprofits and community organizations to explore collaborative fundraising opportunities and amplify collective impact in advancing women’s leadership. What We're Looking For
Proven experience in fundraising, corporate relations, business development, or sales. Strong track record of cultivating and closing new partnerships. Excellent relationship management and presentation skills with executive-level stakeholders. Strategic thinker able to balance short-term fundraising goals with long-term pipeline growth. Familiarity with corporate philanthropy, sponsorships, and donor engagement best practices. Passion for advancing women’s leadership and creating systemic change.
