Senior Electrical Engineer - P2S | Seattle, WA | Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in-office / 2 remote | Employment type: Full-time | Salary: $150,000 - $215,000, dependent on experience P2S is a provider of professional engineering services across multiple markets, including higher education, healthcare, ports/harbors, industrial, entertainment, commercial, laboratories, municipal, and federal sectors. Our services include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology integration, from engineering and commissioning to construction management. With over 300 employees, P2S has offices in Long Beach, Seattle, Irvine, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Jose. P2S is an award-winning engineering firm named “Best Place to Work” for the past 15 years. This role supports Federal, Ports, Healthcare, Education, and/or infrastructure projects in our Seattle office. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in electrical design for federal, ports, healthcare, education, and/or infrastructure projects. Location note: Seattle, WA
Responsibilities
Pre-Design Engineering: Perform field surveys for the design of electrical systems, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports. Prepare electrical schematic designs.
Design Engineering: Design power single line and riser diagrams; perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM; design low-voltage and medium-voltage infrastructure; design for electrical equipment replacement projects; coordinate CAD/BIM standards; understand and apply National Electrical Code, Washington Codes, and Energy Standards.
QAQC and Coordination: Perform QAQC for electrical design; coordinate among disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, architectural); work with the design team.
Project Management: Lead projects with a service-first mindset; oversee MEP design for medium to large projects; mentor junior design engineers; support proposals and business development; manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships; uphold P2S documentation standards.
Construction Administration: Respond to RFIs, review submittals for code compliance, collaborate with contractors and field teams, conduct punch walks, and prepare punch lists; ensure final systems reflect design intent.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license
Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design
Experience leading electrical design projects and mentoring professionals
Experience with fee proposals and qualification packages for project pursuits
Project management skills: work breakdown structure, budget tracking, schedules, client interfaces
Experience with NEC, AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit
Experience with delivery methods: design-build, GCCM, and design-bid-build
Experience with various project types (Electrical Equipment Replacement; Renovation – MEPT Design; New Construction – MEPT Design; Underground Electrical Infrastructure; Emergency Power System Design)
Non-Technical: Mentoring, process improvement, collaboration, constructive feedback, teamwork, ownership mindset, reliability, and accountability
Working Knowledge: National Electrical Code; Washington State Codes; Unified Facilities Criteria; FGI Guidelines; ETAP/SKM; Microsoft Office; Revit and AutoCAD a plus
