FreeWheel is looking for passionate Software Engineers to help design, build and support our high-quality, innovative video advertising platform. This position is virtual-based. FreeWheel helps the television industry monetize premium content through a robust technology platform that enables consumers to view high quality videos on any devices. FreeWheel’s New York Engineering Hub is a core part of our global engineering group building one-stop solutions for the TV industry to manage its revenue. The role is with Comcast in collaboration with hackajob. Base pay range: $126,788.00/yr - $190,183.00/yr. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Responsibilities
Responsible for your owned features\' complete software development lifecycle, including designing, prototyping, implementation, testing, maintenance, and technical support. Produce technical specifications and determine operational feasibility. Write well-designed, testable, efficient code. Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. Document and maintain software functionality. Tune and deploy engineering tools, processes, and metrics. Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements and conduct analyses for integration needs. Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications; assists with software updates and roll-outs. Trains junior team members and provides technical leadership throughout the design process. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications, reviews literature and current practices relevant to assigned projects. Ensures applications meet specifications with QA, handles project management aspects as needed, and supports post-release activities. Works with global teams and may require varying working hours to coordinate with colleagues worldwide. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. 4+ years of professional experience in C++. Experience with C/C++, database design, and network programming. Experience with large system software design and development; knowledge of distributed systems and mission-critical systems is a plus. Advertising industry experience is a plus. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and technical innovation; strong learning mindset. Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and software engineering practices. Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to work under pressure; willingness to work with global teams and flexible hours. Ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across functions. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred; Comcast may consider related coursework and experience). 7-10 years of relevant work experience. Location, Schedule and Benefits
