$149,610.00/yr - $224,416.00/yr

Job summary
FreeWheel’s New York Engineering Hub is a core part of our global engineering group building a one-stop solution for the TV industry to manage its billion-dollar revenue. The technology platform handles billions of daily requests, processes terabytes of raw data, and optimizes client business. This position is virtual based.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related field
- 5-7 years of professional experience in C++
Technical Skills
- Experience with C/C++, DB design, and network programming
- Experience with large system software design and development
- Experience with distributed systems and mission-critical systems is a plus
- Advertising industry experience is a plus
- Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and technical innovation
- Strong passion for learning/practicing new techniques
- Knowledgeable about SDLC, Agile, and Software Engineering Methodology
- Team working skills, good communication skills, willingness to work under pressure
- Ability to work closely with global teams and accept additional working time to coordinate with global teams
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements and determine integration needs
- Designs new software and web applications; supports development and customizes current applications; develops software update processes for existing applications
- Participates in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications
- Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations/reports
- Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products; reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to assigned projects
- Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and mentors junior software engineers
- Works with Quality Assurance to ensure applications meet specifications
- Presents architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences; demonstrates project management skills
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; ability to work nights, weekends, variable schedules and overtime as necessary
