Job Overview
As a Senior Systems Engineer - Network at American Operations Corporation, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing network infrastructures that support our organization's security and operational goals. You will be responsible for delivering network solutions that ensure high availability, reliability, and security across various environments, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth technological transitions.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design & Architecture: Develop and design network architecture solutions, including LAN/WAN, VPNs, and cloud-based networks, ensuring they meet organizational requirements and best practices
Implementation: Lead the deployment of new network equipment and technologies, ensuring proper configuration, integration, and performance tuning
Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular assessments to optimize network operations, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
Security: Implement and maintain network security policies, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to safeguard organizational data and assets
Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, troubleshoots, and upgrades to facilitate easier future management and enhancement
Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure availability of equipment and services, including overseeing procurement, maintenance, and contract management
Training & Mentorship: Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and support staff, fostering a knowledgeable and skilled team
Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams to integrate various systems and technologies, ensuring successful operation and delivery of company services
Research: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually enhance the network environment
Requirements
Five (5) years of professional experience in relation to design and implementation in LAN/WAN corporate environments using Cisco, Juniper, TCP/IP and VoIP technologies with routers, switches, fiber optics, firewalls and cable plant designs.
This position is required to be designated as IAT III level with a T5.
